Heidi Neuman is originally from Lake Villa, IL where she started dancing when she was three years old. She trained at a local studio for 17 years where she competed and performed all over the country winning different awards. She moved to Arizona 1999 and has been teaching dance, gymnastics, and swim ever since.
Heidi lives in Scottsdale with her husband, Nick and their beautiful son, Ethan who was born 9/11/2011.
Heidi strives to teach ALL children how to move with the music, be imaginative, and self-expression is strongly encouraged. “If it’s the last dance, dance backwards!”
Laurie Ball is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Real Estate with a minor in Communications and International Business. Laurie is a native to Arizona and has been working and teaching children for the past 12 years. She was a competitive gymnast and swimmer while growing up in Tucson. As of 2015, Laurie lives in the Scottsdale area with her husband, Dave and their beautiful son, Evan who was born 3/5/2014.
Laurie’s passion for the water shows in her teaching efforts year round in her accomplishment in teaching kids water safety.
Laurie prides herself on encouraging ALL children to stay active through sports, extra-curricular activities, and to be a champion in all that they do.
Bethany Baumer is an Arizona native and a graduate of Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education. Bethany began dancing at 9 years old and has continued ever since. She spent most of her high school years teaching various forms of dance at her neighborhood Boys and Girls Club and continued there through parts of college. She spent two years teaching dance at a public high school and is excited to be back teaching younger students in a recreational setting. She loves being a part of the Kidtastics team! Bethany is the friendly voice you hear when you call Kidtastics and helps keeps things running smoothly.
Kathleen is from AZ. She began dancing when she was three years old and competed with a local studio throughout high school. While in high school she was the Captain of her school’s Dance Company and taught dance lessons as an after school job. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2009 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. While at the U of A she was a member of the Black and Blue Hip Hop Team and performed at many University, Community and Sports events. She is new to Kidtastics and is very excited to be teaching dance to kids again!
Tarren Kramer was born and raised in Arizona. She has been swimming her whole life and has loved the water since she first learned to swim at the age of two. She swam competitively for several years in high school. She attends Santa Clara University where she studies marketing and political science. Tarren loves kids and enjoys teaching students of all ages to be safe and love the water.
Kathryn graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, and a minor in Environmental Studies. She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and recently moved to Arizona in order to further her education. She is currently undergoing Emergency Medical training to gain more hands-on experience in the Medical field. She loves being a student, even through the Summer months!
Kathryn has a great deal of experience working with children in a pool setting, as she was a lifeguard for a Swim & Tennis Club for 7 years, and was also a part of their competitive swim team. She believes that making kids feel comfortable and confident is the key to success when it comes to water safety, and learning how to swim! ”
Emily Pivin is a mother of two that’s had over twenty years of experience working with kids. Emily was a college gymnast and coached competitive gymnastics for fifteen years. She loves instructing swimming and she’s excited to get your kids involved in this awesome sport that teaches many valuable lessons that include mental and physical benefits! Kidtastics loves Emily’s energy and passion for swimming and gymnastics.
Maryanne Rawald is originally from Colorado Springs, Co and now attends school at Arizona State University as a premed student. She was on three varsity sports in high school; cheer, volleyball, and tennis and even taught cheer to children as an assistant coach. She has spent over two years lifeguarding and enjoys working with children. She will be teaching private swim lessons as well as lifeguarding private parties this summer. She cannot wait to meet her new students!
Rebecca has been swimming since she was a child and loved it so much she decided to explore it at a competitive level. She swam varsity for 3 years and college for 1 year. She then taught lessons in her home town of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and had some private clients here in Arizona. Rebecca also serves as the Acting Department Director for Experience Arts School in Mesa, teaching kids how to act on stage and in film. This helps makes her swim classes fun and creative. Additionally, she also handles booking for her husband’s business Soundwaves Recording Studio in Gilbert. Rebecca loves teaching swimming to all ages because she grew up loving it!
Ann Twarogal is a graduate from Arizona State University with concurrent degrees in psychology and art history. She is currently working on completing her teaching certificate in special education with a focus in autism education. She has been teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding for the past nine years. Ann has worked for Kidtastics for three years and really enjoys her experiences working with children and their families. She currently lives in Tucson and will be teaching lessons there as well as traveling to the Valley to lifeguard private parties.
Ashly DeBlander has been swimming since she was five years old and has belonged to a variety of swim clubs from Illinois to California. Ashly was on the high school swim and waterpolo team in California. During the summer of 2014, Ashly was a lifeguard for the City of Corona, CA. In August of 2014 she relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona where she started working at a local fitness club in the child center. Ashly has always enjoyed teaching and babysitting infants to preteens. Her patience, kindness, and academics has her pursuing a nursing degree at Northern Arizona University. She will join Kidtastics for the second year to help kids love and be safe in the water!
Katy was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. She has been swimming her whole life, starting in parent-toddler classes when she was only one year old. Katy joined swim team when she was 7 and continued swimming competitively through high school. Katy McGill graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has been teaching swim lessons for twelve years now for all ages. Katy has taught swim lesson for Kidtastics for two summers now and enjoys her private group swim sessions. Katy has been a lifeguard since high school and is lifeguard in her spare time. She is looking forward to meeting her new swim students.
Juan “Coel” Rodriguez began his journey in dance at a young age in Phoenix, Arizona where he later received his B.F.A. in Dance at Arizona State University. He has danced and worked with a variety of groups around the Arizona valley including EPIK Dance Company, Dulce Dance Company, Desert Dance Theatre, and humanafterall crew. Juan began his training in Urban based genres and styles of movement including both Breaking and Popping as well as later training in Locking, House, and Waacking. His love for movement eventually led him into other facets of dance but primarily, Postmodern dance and ideas caught his interest. Transitioning into a college setting in Dance for him meant experimenting and diving deeper into these two practices as a means of creating, improvising, and eventually teaching. Balance between both exploration and experimentation has been a major factor in his practice and he looks forward to sharing what he has learned thus far. “Creativity is thinking inside the box as well as outside.”
Growing up, Rachel loved everything about the water and began swimming competitively at a young age. She was on her high school Varsity Swim Team, placing in National Competitions, and spent her summers lifeguarding. In 2009, she graduated from The University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies and Human Development.
Rachel has 8 collective years of experience teaching children. She has a background in social work as a High Needs Children’s Case Manager for at-risk youth, worked as a one-on-one aid for children with autism, and has experience nannying full time. Rachel is currently getting her teaching certification in Elementary and Special Education. Rachel loves encouraging children to see learning as a fun process, and believes teaching and interacting with each child in a way that makes sense to them; is key to quick learning and confidence building.
